The Emmaselle 1919 was designed as a 150 Cc gas power RC aircraft in 2005. Most all the wood was purchased at Menards for about $199.00. After the airframe was finished a test of the 150Cc 3W-150 showed that the engine was just to much for the airframe. The project was then put on hold until a better power plant could be designed. On April 1st 2010 research was started into a electric power solution. On April 9th 2010 Hacker Motors was contacted on if they had a electric power system that would perform to the specs of a 80Cc gas engine, the minimum need at about 60 watts per pound . Hacker had an A80-10 motor and recommended a Castle Creations ICE 160 ESC. ThunderPower batteries was then contacted to research if batteries were available with capacities need for at least a 6-8 minute flight. 4 ThunderPower 5 cell 6600 mAh batteries, 2 in series, and 2 in parallel makes up the system that will give 8 minute flights. On April 15 2010 the Emmaselle 1919 took flight and she flew perfect.

The Emmaselle was designed after Damon and Hunter (his son) had gone to Oshkosh. While at Oshkosh Damon and Hunter had looked at all the vintage planes, Damon got the idea of building a giant scale vintage RC plane. While driving home Damon thought about what plane to replicate, none of the old vintage planes seem to interest him. Damon then had the though as what type of plane he would build to take to EAA Oshkosh if it ware 1919. So the Emmaselle 1919 is 100% Damon's design as if it were a 1919 EAA type aircraft. Emmaselle is named after Damon's 8 year old girl Emma.
